Our Crosses

Is this cross made from real wood?

Yes. Every Holy Fringe cross is cut from one solid piece of natural ebony, rosewood, or walnut, with no glued parts and no plastic or metal.

Will my cross look exactly like the one in the photos?

Not exactly, and that’s what makes it special. Because each cross is made from natural wood, the grain pattern, color depth, and shade vary from piece to piece. These natural differences aren’t flaws. They make every cross truly one of a kind.

What’s the difference between ebony, walnut, and rosewood?

Ebony is deep, near-black, and very dense, with a smooth, minimal look. Walnut is warm brown with clearly visible grain lines and a classic, natural feel. Rosewood is rich reddish-brown with dark, flowing streaks and gradually deepens in color as you wear it.

Is this a crucifix?

No. This is a plain Christian cross without the figure of Jesus. A crucifix includes the body of Christ on the cross, while a plain cross symbolizes the Resurrection and is worn across many Christian traditions, including Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant.

Does the necklace come with an extra cord?

Yes. Every cross includes two cords: an adjustable nylon cord with a sliding knot for everyday wear, and a waxed cotton cord for a softer, more natural look.

How can I use my wooden cross?

Wear it every day as a simple necklace, hold it in your hand during prayer, or hang it from your rear view mirror as a car cross. Simply loop the nylon cord around the mirror and slide the knot to secure it.

Size & Fit

Which size should I choose?

The 1.2 in cross (0.75 in wide) is small and subtle, the 1.5 in (0.94 in wide) is our everyday all-rounder, and the 1.8 in (1.1 in wide) is bolder and easy to see. If you’re buying a gift and aren’t sure, the 1.5 in size suits most men and women.

Is this cross necklace for men or women?

Both. The clean, simple shape works as a wooden cross necklace for men and as a natural, understated piece for women. Many customers choose the 1.2 in size for a more delicate look and the 1.8 in size for a stronger statement.

How long is the cord, and can I adjust it?

The nylon cord adjusts from 13.5 to 27.5 in (34–70 cm) with a sliding knot. You can wear the cross close to your collarbone, at mid-chest, or let it hang low, and change the length anytime.

Care

Can I wear my cross in the shower or while swimming?

We recommend taking it off. Water can dull the natural finish, cause the wood to swell over time, and wash the wax out of the cotton cord.

How do I clean and care for my cross?

Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and skin oils. If the wood starts to look dry, rub in a tiny drop of food-safe mineral oil or beeswax, then wipe off the excess. Store it in its gift pouch when you’re not wearing it.

Is the necklace safe for sensitive skin?

The necklace contains no metal, so there’s no nickel, no plating, and nothing to tarnish or turn your skin green. It’s a good choice for anyone who reacts to metal jewelry.

Gifts

Does the cross come gift-ready?

Yes. Every cross arrives in a Holy Fringe gift pouch, ready to give. It’s a meaningful Christian gift for baptism, first communion, confirmation, Easter, Christmas, Father’s Day, or simply to let someone know they’re in your prayers.

Do you offer a discount if I buy more than one?

Yes. Buy any two crosses and get 10% off your order, one to keep and one to share with someone you love.

Is it suitable for children?

Our crosses are made for teens and adults. We don’t recommend the necklace for young children, since any cord worn around the neck can pose a strangulation risk.

Orders & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal. For orders over $35, you can also pay over time with Shop Pay Installments.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, contact us through our Contact Us page as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to update or cancel it.

Can I get my cross personalized or engraved?

Not at the moment. Our crosses are kept simple and natural, without engraving.

Do you offer bulk orders for churches or events?

Yes. If you need crosses for a church group, retreat, first communion class, or other event, contact us through our Contact Us page with the quantity and wood you’re interested in, and we’ll get back to you with options.
